I am a Seattle Based Birth and Postpartum doula and I recommend these pads to all my clients in pregnancy (when things get a little leaky!). I absolutely love them myself! So soft and absorbent and comfortable!
Hello, long time bleeder here first time reviewer here!
I had the opportunity to put this beauty to use. I knew I was going to share, so I was mindful this round of release and paid attention to our menstrual management options.
Here are my thoughts. (well, some of them, you don't need them all!)
1. The materials are super soft! The lining immediately felt like a gift. (I think I might of even cooed about it.)
2. They have this little bleed thru safety seam that I thought would be really uncomfortable, but I couldn't feel it. (Whose idea was this? It feels a bit like a break thru on break thrus.)
3. They absorbed quickly. I didn't feel like I was risking my white shorts when I walked my dog. (Tbh, it didn't even cross my mind this could be a risk when I put them on.)
4. I was able to sleep on my back, my side AND my stomach. I was also able to repeat that slumber circuit every who knows how often. (This is great, I love to spread out like a starfish because I don't like to / don't have to share my bed.)
4. These pads have a built-in self-enveloping pocket that makes them easy to store or take with you. (They will even fit in some of the pinch size "pockets" of today's pants.)
5. I didn't notice the pad migrating or moving much, so they must have stayed put. (I'm pretty sure I don't sit down while awake, so there were plenty of positions to notice happenin'.)
6. The snaps line up easily and hold well. They are small and smooth. They don't feel as intrusive as some of the other brands. (You can feel the intention went into the actual design and details.)
7. (I also love this merlot color.)
I think these would be great for anyone who is sensation sensitive, interested in transitioning to a more environmentally or financially considerate option, new/young bleeding beebees, folx who just had babies and are bleeding (or pottying) like whoa, sex havers who need a soak up sponge and peeps who want to make quality, comfort and ease a priority.
I am not really sure what the Rollz Royce of period products would be, but boi are these lovely!
You only get to pick 5 stars here, but I would 10/10 recommend.
Switching from disposable pads was something I researched for a long time, and I’m so glad I found HerPlum’s My Normal Flow Pad. I wanted a product that was safe, eco-friendly, and genuinely comfortable, and this pad delivers on all counts. From the moment I tried it, I felt protected—no worries about leaks, bunching, or discomfort. The soft material makes a huge difference, and the design just feels thoughtful and practical. Making the switch felt like a big step, but HerPlum made it easy and perfect. I don’t plan to go back to disposables!
I have 3 of the My Normal Flow Pads and I have found then to be incredibly well made and very thoughtful in its design. I love the sleeve it has attached to roll up when it is ready to be removed from your underwear or to help keep it neatly folded in your purse to be used when needed. The material is so soft and it absorbs more liquid than many disposable pads I've tried. I highly recommend you give it a try if you've never used reusable pads or if youre in the search for great quality ones!
I have been concerned about the waste created by menstrual products for decades now. I don't even menstruate any more, but I do have a small amount of bladder leakage that I wear a light pad for. I think this product has been well researched and created with love for the planet and her people. It just doesn't work for me.
One problem is the snap closure made my underpants bunch up. I usually wear Hanes bikini style - never a thong. Make that wraparound a few centimeters larger and it's a non-issue. I also thought the normal flow pad was a tad thick. By far, the worst problem is that it catches my hair! It caused me a bit of pain by the end of the day. For you gals who shave that probably wouldn't be an issue.
We have had a lot of rain this spring and the one pad I used was damp for three days. I can't smell well so I don't know if it's musty, but I assume it is after all that time hanging. Maybe if I rolled it up in a towel and squeezed it to death...
In the end I am still looking for that perfect solution.
